The Zoland Family

For nearly a century, the Zoland family has been known for superb quality and unparalleled value in diamonds and jewelry. Our history dates back to the early 1920s when our grandfather, Leon Zoland, was introduced to the jewelry business by his older brother.

In the Zoland family, we pride ourselves on long-lasting relationships built on a foundation of trust. We work hard to understand our clients and their needs to create jewelry that is cherished -- pieces that capture unique life experiences. When asked what they like most, our clients cite our experience, professionalism, creativity, service and most of all - our integrity. In fact, over 90% of our sales are from referrals and repeat customers. Few jewelers can boast of fifth generation clients!

Our collection boasts an extensive range of classic and contemporary pieces to satisfy any taste or occasion. With skilled designers, jewelers, model makers, setters, and manufacturers, we also create extraordinary custom designed pieces that capture life’s special moments. We look forward to making your special moments sparkle!

Sincerely,

Yale and Rob Zoland

Our History

Upon immigrating to New York from Warsaw, Poland just after the First World War, our grandfather Leon Zoland was introduced to the jewelry business by his older brother Sol. Leon soon began attending public jewelry auctions and eventually assembled a small showcase in New York City’s former diamond district at Bowery and Canal Streets.

Customer service came naturally to Leon, who spent his childhood and early teenage years working in his family’s taverns in Warsaw. Over the years, Leon built a successful business to support his young family residing in Brooklyn.

In the late 1950s, our father Alvin joined the business after graduating from NYU, and Leon later incorporated the business as Leon Zoland & Son. Around 1960, Leon and Alvin moved the business to West 47th Street, which has become New York’s predominant Diamond District. We have been in our current location at 75 W 47th Street since 1985.

With the help of our grandmother Fay and our mother Paula, Leon and Alvin grew the family business through strong personal relationships and quality jewelry. Today we are very proud to serve fifth generation clients!

Leon and Fay retired in 1979. Yale joined the family business in 1987 after graduating from Brandeis University, and apprenticed under Alvin until he and Paula retired in 1997. Yale’s younger brother Rob joined the business in 2004 after developing expertise in other industries that would help Zoland reach new levels of success.
